LAS Automated Leak Analysis System
For further information and pricing, please get in touch with us.
The LAS automates mass spectrometry leak testing for lithium-ion battery assemblies, sealed packages and micro gas cylinders. It detects selected fill gases, tracer gases or volatile electrolyte species, and delivers repeatable pass/fail testing for quality control and research environments.
Applications
Parts are placed in the test chamber and analysed using a stored process template in MASsoft Professional. Automated routines, self-calibration standards and configurable decision limits reduce operator input and support consistent screening. The dry, non-destructive method is suitable for small- to medium-sized sealed products and avoids liquid test contamination.
The system provides detection below 1 × 10⁻⁷ mbar·L/s, subject to the selected species and test configuration. It can analyse a range of fill gases, tracer gases and volatile electrolyte species, including helium, argon and carbon dioxide, and can monitor impurities, such as water vapour. This species-selective approach supports configurable leak testing across different products and test methods.
- Automated operation reduces operator input and supports repeatable test workflows
- High-throughput analysis increases the number of components that can be screened
- Dry, contamination-free testing avoids liquid contact and reduces post-test cleaning
- High-sensitivity leak detection identifies small leaks in sealed components and packages
- Non-destructive testing preserves components for further inspection, development or use
The system is supplied with MASsoft Professional Edition software.
The LAS system includes a process template file operating within MASsoft for fully automated operation with start, test, pass , fail indicators. The software records the data automatically. System operation run to run is through push button operation.
This Windows 10 and Windows 11 compatible software allows control of the instrument via USB 2.0, RS232 or Ethernet. The software provides for servicing and supervisor control of the system.
