Hiden Analytical will be attending the International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS) taking place 22-26 June 2026 in Lake Tahoe, NV, USA. Representing us will be Gerard Duffy and Alex Davies, who will be on-site to showcase how Hiden’s instrumentation supports plasma research.
The IEEE NPSS Plasma Science and Applications Committee (PSAC)-sponsored annual flagship meeting convenes the global plasma community to present and discuss advances across fundamental plasma physics, plasma sources, diagnostics, modelling, and application-driven plasma technologies. The conference program is designed to span both established and emerging research areas, with technical sessions and poster presentations complemented by a mini-course, networking and community events, and opportunities for student participation via travel grants and awards.
What to Expect?
- A broad, cross-disciplinary technical program spanning core plasma science through to applied plasma systems and enabling technologies, reflecting ICOPS’ role as a major annual meeting for the field.
- Oral and poster sessions designed for rapid exchange of new results, with strong opportunities to discuss experimental methods, diagnostics, and interpretation directly with authors.
- Professional development and community events, including Young Professionals and Women in Engineering networking sessions that support career-stage connections across academia, labs, and industry.
- A dedicated mini-course, offering a structured deep dive into a focused topic area alongside the main conference program.
- Student support mechanisms such as student travel grants (and associated eligibility/requirements), helping bring emerging researchers into the ICOPS community.
Hiden Analytical at ICOPS
-
Meet Gerard Duffy and Alex Davies to discuss plasma-relevant mass spectrometry configurations for time-resolved gas analysis and process monitoring, including approaches for tracking reactive neutrals, stable products, and trace impurities in dynamic plasma environments (R&D through to engineered systems).
- Explore species-resolved plasma diagnostics workflows where measurement needs extend beyond “what’s present” to “how it evolves” (e.g., transient chemistry, pulsed plasmas, ignition/afterglow behavior, and steady-state process windows).
- Evaluate routes to improved selectivity and quantification—from fragmentation-aware peak assignment through to background management and calibration strategies—aligned to real-world plasma chambers and tool architectures.
- Compare integration options for your setup, including sampling interfaces, pressure management, and data capture strategies suitable for laboratory plasma reactors, deposition/etch tools, and research beamlines.
- Connect with our team during the exhibition to align your application goals with an instrument pathway—whether you’re focused on plasma chemistry, thin-film processing, surface modification, or broader vacuum/plasma process monitoring.
