Hiden Analytical is pleased to announce that Mike Thomas and Jim Melling will be representing Hiden Analytical at the 41st International Society of Electrochemistry Topical Meeting, taking place June 7-10, 2026 in Belgrade, Serbia.

The annual meeting brings together researchers working across corrosion science, surface/interface engineering, and sustainable electrochemical technologies—spanning fundamentals through applications such as environmentally friendly coatings, electrocatalysis, energy storage materials, sensing, and bio/biomedical electrochemistry, providing a focused forum for discussion, collaboration, and new directions in “green” functional surfaces.

What to Expect?

  • A focused meeting on corrosion science and surface modification, spanning fundamentals to applied engineering processes and technologies.
  • Two core symposium tracks designed to connect surface engineering with device performance:
  1. Emerging trends in corrosion evaluation and mitigation via surface modification (including corrosion/wear resistance and surface-engineered (bio)electrochemical sensing).
  2. Electrochemical interface engineering for advanced energy systems (energy storage surfaces and high-efficiency electrocatalysis/energy harvesting).
  • Broad application coverage including environmentally friendly coatings, electrocatalysis, batteries and supercapacitors, bio/biomedical electrochemistry, and sensing—all through the lens of functional “green” surfaces.

Hiden Analytical at 41st International Society of Electrochemistry Topical Meeting 2026:

  • Meet Mike Thomas and Jim Melling to discuss OEMS workflows for tracking evolved gases and vapours vs applied potential (including fast transients during cycling and conditioning), and DEMS approaches for dissolved-gas and off-gas analysis, enabling in situ, mass-resolved detection of volatile reactants/intermediates/products in real time.
  • Relevant systems to explore:
    • HPR-20 OEMS (online electrochemical gas analysis).

    • HPR-40 DEMS (differential electrochemical mass spectrometry).

  • If you’re studying reaction pathways, selectivity, degradation, or stability, ask us about adding real-time mass spectrometry alongside your electrochemistry measurements.

We look forward to connecting with the electrochemistry community!
